The Learning Center is here to help students of all ages improve their skills across the curriculum. Whether your child needs help with one subject or in school overall, The Learning Center will provide the necessary support.

Founded in 2004 to meet the needs of parents and students in both the local and expatriate communities of Beijing, The Learning Center has now worked with well over 200 students, ranging in age from pre-school to adult. We have helped struggling students to raise grades, and gifted students to enhance skills in mathematics, science, English as a Foreign Language, and many other academic subjects. The students who attend TLC find a peaceful setting and a positive, nurturing environment in which to study.

Who we are

The Learning Center is dedicated to providing the best possible tutor for your child and we choose our tutors with the utmost care. All are native English speakers and many have had experience living and working overseas. They have diverse backgrounds, but are all specialists in their subject areas. In order to work as a tutor at The Learning Center, candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, though many of our tutors have also completed postgraduate studies. TLC tutors have a passion for their subject areas and enjoy sharing that passion with students.

What we do

The Learning Center provides professional tutoring services to inspire confidence in all students, K through grade 12, as well as adult learners. Our tutors help students succeed in math, science, writing and reading, while also providing homework support and promoting effective study skills.

TLC offers K-12 tutoring programs and small group workshops for every student, at every stage – from early reading to college prep. The Learning Center has extensive knowledge of the curricula used at the major international schools in Beijing as well as an understanding of the materials and methods used in local schools. Our goal is to complement the program in your child’s school and we are happy to coordinate with teachers and/or learning support staff in order to provide assistance where it is most needed.
