It is very important that parents, and school teachers or counselors in some situations, be kept aware of the progress their child is making, as well as any issues which may be impeding his or her success. At TLC, we provide a communication log in which the tutor notes the day's activities, any issues that arose and a note about homework if applicable. The tutor may also write down information he received from the student regarding class work in school, such as quizzes or tests. Parents have a section as well where they can leave comments or questions for the tutor, and where they are asked to sign as having seen the log.

For Chinese parents who have difficulty understanding English, face to face meetings or weekly phone or email updates in Mandarin or Cantonese can be offered instead of the communication log. We regret that we can not offer updates in any other languages at this time.

In addition to the communication logs, parents will receive quarterly progress reports reviewing their child's progress in the program, how well they are behaving in the tutoring session, and any updated goals for the next quarter.
