It is understandable that parents want to know exactly what is happening in the class with their child and to be assured that their child is settling in and working appropriately. As you may well know, your child, regardless of age, acts differently when you are around. Students need to develop a positive working relationship with the teacher, and fellow students, as soon as possible and this is far more difficult to do with a parent present.
